Resources should:
- Be appropriate for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Be current, valid, and reliable.
- Be regularly maintained, accurate and up to date.
- Be accessible, clear, concise and comprehensive.
- Compatible with any device and easy to navigate (accessible on computer, mobile phone and tablet).
- Be relevant to academic programs offered through SNHU’s Global Campus.
- Provide applicable tools, actionable steps, advice, self-help, or empowerment.
- Be a secure website and offer support options.
- Support equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging in Career Services
Resources should not:
- Require payments or additional requirements for services, such as in-app payments, subscription requirements, certain software or access requirements, specific browser or system requirements aside from standard, upgrading from standard, ads, software downloads or time limitations for free usage.
- *Professional organizations and professional networking opportunities (such as professional conferences or LinkedIn) requiring a fee can be considered, as long as the resource meets the other expectations outlined).
- Be sent by a vendor with only a Gmail or other personal email address
- Advertise or be affiliated with other universities or colleges
- Include broken links or outdated or inaccurate information.
- Be a spam risk or third-party vendor
- Contain bias or discriminatory language
- Focus on promoting a product or service
- Duplicate existing services offered or resources shared through the department
- Include an overwhelming amount of information or distracting design elements, such as flashing images or cluttered layouts, which can lead to cognitive overload.
