About the Competition:Boss of the SOC (BOTS) is a cybersecurity & data analytics competition happening on Oct 17th 2024 created by Splunk where SNHU students can practice their search and investigation skills while working through provided scenarios. Students compete against each other and their peers for prizes! No prior experience or knowledge is required; any SNHU student is welcome to play! What is Boss of the SOC?Boss of the SOC (BOTS) is a one-day virtual cybersecurity and data analytics competition! As a contestant, you will be a SOC analyst and explore and investigate realistic event data in Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Enterprise Security to solve a series of security challenges. During the 4.5 hours of the event, you’ll practice your security skills with a team of other SNHU students and Splunk resources and have friendly competition against peers for prizes and bragging rights! First, register here on mySNHU
Next, all participants MUST sign up and create a Splunk account through splunk.com (use your SNHU email address)
After creating your Splunk account, you must login to bots.splunk.com
Click on “Enroll” button
Create or join a team — Students are encouraged to sign up in teams (4 or more)
