Overview & Requirements:
- STEM and Liberal Arts Academic Leaders and SNHU Career Services pilot a annual Game Design Experience Challenge during the academic year.
- This challenge invites currently enrolled online Creative Writing students and Game Art & Development students to experience the game design process, collaborate across different programs, add skills to their resumes, learn about project management and network with other students.
- Students selected to participate will work together virtually in small groups for 7+ weeks and familiarize themselves with game design processes. All participants will have the chance to develop their marketable game design skills.
- Students will showcase their game design to employers in the gaming industry, and they will be given a chance to network and collect feedback on their games.
- Students who complete the project will also receive a guide with information about how they can showcase their new skills in resume format, professional portfolio, and how to explain the experience to potential employers during the interview process.
Who can participate? Eligibility Requirements:
- Online UG students in the Game Art & Development (GAD) program with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and 60- 90 credits, who have completed GRA-401 and GRA-402 are eligible to participate.
- Online UG students in the Creative Writing (CWE) programs with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and 60-90 credits are eligible to participate. CWE students must also have completed ENG 226, plus any 2 workshop courses from the following list: ENG-330, ENG-323, ENG-327, ENG-328, ENG-329, ENG-341, ENG-347, ENG-348, ENG-349, ENG-351, ENG-357, ENG-358, ENG-359.

- Students who met specific academic requirements are invited to apply to be considered for the Game Design Experience Challenge when applications open. The application process is competitive and not all who apply will be selected.
