With time in Santo Domingo and San José de Ocoa, you’ll visit local clinics and hospitals, engage in service projects with a nonprofit organization and learn directly from healthcare professionals. Alongside these impactful experiences, you’ll explore the Colonial Zone, visit an agroforestry nursery and hydroelectric plant and unwind on a scenic beach – blending meaningful learning with cultural discovery.

Faculty-led programs (FLPs) are short-term travel experiences – typically 1-2 weeks – led by Southern New Hampshire University faculty. Unlike National Student Exchange and semester-long study abroad programs, FLPs are an additional out-of-pocket cost. These trips are a great way to explore the world without committing to a full semester away. While all majors are encouraged to apply, many FLPs are themed around topics that may align closely with specific fields of study. Both campus and online students are welcome to participate in FLPs. Browse SNHU’s upcoming FLPs to see if any of these experiences are the right fit for you. Click here to learn more about Faculty-led programs (FLPs).
