This is an unarmed law enforcement position (Title 33 Commission). Limited Commission Ranger positions involve extensive customer service and public contact while enforcing Colorado Parks and Wildlife laws and regulations. Specific duties may include but are not limited to:
Perform boat inspector and decontaminator responsibilities according to state regulations and standard protocols at Fort Morgan Port of Entry near Fort Morgan, Colorado. Site lead boat inspector will be responsible for providing on the job training to inspection staff, create schedules and make sure all shifts are covered during operational hours, collect and verify accurate time keeping records for payroll purposes, work with area work lead to resolve challenges with staff and customers, and recommend hiring/firing of employees to area work lead. Additional responsibilities include ensuring inspection station staff are following standardized protocols by performing quality control assessments on a monthly basis, ensure that data entry is being performed accurately and completely by all inspection station staff, maintain inventory of all required supplies, perform basic maintenance & troubleshooting on power washer/decontamination unit, and provide public outreach on aquatic invasive species. Early morning, evening, and weekend work is required.
As a Limited Commission Ranger, duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Enforce Colorado Parks and Wildlife rules and regulations and issue citations for violations.
- Resolve visitor complaints and conflicts.
- Complete reports and may be required to appear in court.
- Answer questions regarding aquatic invasive species.
