Job Summary
The Victims Advocacy Center’s Victim’s Empowerment Program (VEP) is seeking a Temporary Victims Advocate Clinician to join their team of professionals:
- Provides confidential direct services related to victimization (especially sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, hazing, and hate crimes), including crisis intervention, case management, counseling, and accessing University and community resources.
- Provides direct psychological services to University students including individuals, couples, and group counseling. Conducts clinical assessments and formulates diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Provides walk-in emergency assessments, crisis intervention, and intakes for students. Provides consultations to family members and campus community constituents.
- Completes intake summaries, psychological assessments, emergency evaluations, progress notes, and termination summaries.
- Participates in rotation crisis hotline afterhours and provides crisis intervention to the FIU students, including daytime and evening/weekend as needed.
- Provides clinical and advocacy services encompassing a wide range of personal concerns related to student goals, needs, values, attitudes, interpersonal conflicts, educational or career choices within a multicultural/diverse university environment.
- Provides social services to help student(s) meet needs to support student academic success.
- Accompanies students, as needed, to hearings and appointments related to victimization, including Rape Treatment Center, Domestic Violence Court, Student Conduct proceedings and other relevant meetings that help support student recovery and academic success.
- Provides case management coordination and support in collaboration with Counseling and Psychological Services staff, psychologists, counselors, and case manager(s); Student Health Services; Residential Life; and colleges and other campus units and community providers.
- Participates in DASA, SHW, and CAPS/VEP meetings and committees, and contributes to programs, policies, and procedures through feedback and collaboration with colleagues.

- Licensed, license-eligible, or eligible to attain registered intern status in the State of Florida.
