Lake Winnipesaukee Golf Club Internship Offering 2026

LWGC is seeking motivated and hospitable team members seeking experience in the hospitality field. Come and work in one of the best environments around where you are treated with respect and the work you perform is valued.

Club Facts:

Lake Winnipesaukee Golf Club is a breathtaking private golf club in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. The property is nestled over 700 lush acres with the course itself occupying over 400 acres. The 18-hole golf course is beautifully manicured, where the indigenous wildlife can be seen frequently.

The clubhouse held its grand opening on July 4, 2004, presenting its members with a flagstone façade, wood-paneled interiors, and luxurious, one-of-a-kind furnishings. The clubhouse exterior is designed to give the feel of old New England, with the wood shingles and deep green trim, it blends in with the mountain setting. The views from the clubhouse interior include sweeping views of nearby Rust Pond in Wolfeboro, many of the golf holes and the White Mountains – in particular Mt. Washington. Lake Winnipesaukee Golf Club has been named one of the top ten new private golf courses in the country by Golf Digest. LWGC has hosted the New England Open and several amateur championships.

The scratch kitchen is led by an Executive Chef and a team of professionals with an ever-changing menu. The club is open May – Oct with the peak season being June, July and August serving lunch, formal and informal dinners, and specialty events with creative menus. LWGC hosts corporate golf events, private dinners and events, and member events.

LWGC is in the summer resort area in the town of New Durham, NH and is minutes away from Lake Winnipesaukee, 40 minutes from Concord, Portsmouth and 1 ½ hours from Boston.

Objective:

LWGC will offer a comprehensive internship program encompassing all facets of operating a kitchen. This will be achieved through hands-on experience and practical management applications in daily kitchen operations. The goal is for the interns to obtain a realistic understanding of how a kitchen works from day to day. LWGC will be looking to improve upon the previous seasons and 2019 will offer new challenges as the tournament schedules will be full and a full season of dining operations will begin.

The Program:

The primary objective of the intern team is to help stabilize the kitchen operations while providing quality food to the membership, their families and guests. The interns will work for the restaurant with time spent as follows:

  • Kitchen: Become exposed to the management of a kitchen which includes execution and presentation in salad, sauté, grill, fryer, hot and cold sandwich preparation, private & group function prep and execution, inventory and cost control.
  • Private & Group Functions: Become exposed to the organization of multiple buffet stations throughout the day including: breakfast buffet, box lunches or lunch buffets, carving and/or sauté stations and ice cream and/or dessert stations.
  • Outside Events: Become exposed to the details of organizing and executing a function buffet, catering and to-go orders.

Your initiative and curiosity will drive your learning. Asking questions and participating in activities and functions will facilitate your personal and professional growth.

Other Pertinent Information:

  • Start date: May 2026 (Start date may be flexible)
  • Ending Date: September 2026 (Ending date flexible within reason and could be part time being on the weekends due to the start of the new semester, seasons end and pending the hours of employment requirements.)
  • Hourly rate will be $20.00 per hour and paid weekly. Depending on experience.
  • Kitchen ball caps will be provided.
  • Uniforms are not provided, (expected attire, can be ordered and deducted from pay at a reasonable price) You will need: white chef’s coats, black pants, black, closed toe, non-slip/skid shoes
  • Professional appearance at all times

The internship is a mutual agreement between LWGC and the interns. The summer will be successful as long as the communication lines are open, and both parties strive to be the best at what they do. The intern’s commitment to the program is vital to their development in the hospitality business. The interns will learn a lot about themselves and their management style. The overall experience will be one they will be proud of.

Requirements:

  • The understanding that this is a real working kitchen so professional behavior is always expected.
  • The Intern is here to learn as well as work hard.
  • Interns must come with minimum competencies such as sanitation knowledge, knife skills and the basic understanding of food and kitchen operations.

Lake Winnipesaukee Golf Club is interested in high energy candidates with the drive to excel in the hospitality business. All grade levels are welcome to apply.

Thank you for your interest in Lake Winnipesaukee Golf Club and good luck!
