Global Project and Alliance Management (GPAM) sits in the research and development (R&D) organization at our Company Research & Development Division. The Project Managers (PM) and Alliance Managers (AM) in GPAM are core members of discovery, development, CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls), value and implementation, and alliance teams at our Company. Project Managers drive these cross-functional teams to deliver projects and products that improve human health and our Company’s business, and Alliance Managers ensure successful collaborations with our R&D alliance partners. The GPAM Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for the development, sustainment, and training of GPAM-owned systems, tools, and business processes as well as alignment with Finance, IT, and functional area operations groups within our Company. The incumbent will work in one or more of the groups within GPAM (Discovery PM, Development PM, CMC integrated PM, Value and Medical PM, AM or PMO).
GPAM is seeking summer interns to work collaboratively with Project Managers or Alliance Managers on drug development projects and organizational initiatives. Individuals with an interest in learning project management fundamentals and an eagerness to learn the application of PM skills in pharmaceutical development should apply.
The responsibility of the role may include:
Time management skills and ability to prioritize work to effectively estimate projected time needed to complete tasks. Participating in creation of key deliverables to assist team and department in meeting goals and objectives
Assisting other project managers and participation as a team member in preparation of inputs for decision making as appropriate. Effectively facilitating discussions and be able to ask key pointed questions to guide team in new directions
Learning how to use project management tools and how to participate in preparation of content; as appropriate
Participating in development of risk assessments and creation of risk mitigation plans
Participating in the clear communication of program issues / risks as they arise
Being able to serve as a point contact for stakeholders regarding project information/updates
Compiling and analyze data to summarize report/project updates & findings
Identifying opportunities to improve and streamline processes
Opportunity to lead a project from initiation to close out and transition
NOTE: This position is available in Rahway, NJ (RY) or Upper Gwynedd, PA (UG) based on candidate preference.
Education:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program or higher with a concentration in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) discipline or other related fields
Required Experience and Skills:
Candidate must be able to commit to full-time hybrid employment for 10 – 12 weeks beginning June 2025
Highly organized and capable of working with attention to detail. Able to relate project details to larger project objectives
Effective interpersonal and teamworking skills; able to create and foster relationships and collaboration with team members from other areas of the company
Ability to define solutions and formulate and execute on actions across a team
Ability to drive results for assigned projects
Analyzing and evaluating an issue or situation, so that you can form an unbiased judgement
An effective communicator: knows when and how to speak up and appropriately raise issues and/or ask for guidance; keeps both team members, departmental colleagues (as appropriate) and management fully apprised of project / initiative status and issues
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Exposure to Office 365 applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Exposure to MS Project
