Social Media Intern – Psychotropic Deprescribing Council (Remote)
Position: Social Media Intern
Location: Remote
Commitment: 1 Year Preferred (Flexible by Semester); 10-15 hours a week
About Us:The Psychotropic Deprescribing Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to advancing responsible psychotropic deprescribing through research and education in best clinical practices. Our mission is to educate healthcare professionals, advocate for policy changes, and improve outcomes in mental health.
Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated and creative Social Media Intern to join our team. This role is ideal for a self-starter passionate about mental health, healthcare reform, and social media management. As a Social Media Intern, you will plan, create, and manage content across our social media platforms, helping to expand our digital presence and engage with our online community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a social media strategy to promote the organization’s mission and programs.
- Create, schedule, and manage content for various platforms, including Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
- Monitor and engage with followers to build a supportive online community.
- Analyze social media performance and provide insights for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the marketing and outreach teams to align social media efforts with organizational goals.
- Stay current on social media trends, healthcare news, and digital marketing best practices.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Social Media Management, Marketing or a related field.
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
- Passion for mental health advocacy, healthcare reform, and education.
- Previous experience with social media analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Google Analytics)
- Basic graphic design or video editing skills or a willingness to learn
