 The IoT Division at SAS is a vertically integrated line of business charged with innovation: innovation in products and solutions and innovation around market engagement. 

We are looking for a curious and innovative candidate who believes that AI can make a real difference.  Within our Strategy and Product Innovation & Engineering team, we are developing a brand-new paradigm in delivering AI & IoT applications. 

As an intern, you might: 

  • Conduct research on industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics for AI focused topics.
  • Create documentation for proposed product capabilities (including requirement, evidence, prototypes)
  • Investigate competing or comparable market technologies to understand our strengths and weaknesses
  • Showcase cutting-edge and competitive technologies through live demonstrations
  • Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, and Industry advisory teams

 

Required Qualifications 

  • You are an undergraduate student studying Computer Science or a related field, not graduating prior to December 2026. 
  • Experience with conducting market research, data analysis, and interpreting industry trends
  • Familiarity with AI-tools such as LLMs, vibe-coding, and Agents
  • Strong written and verbal skills for preparing reports, presentations, and collaborating with team members.
  • Working knowledge of Python
  • You’re curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do. 
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal. 
  • Leadership abilities. Your past experiences demonstrate you’ll take initiative and go above and beyond the call of duty. 
  • You’re interested in the future of Analytics and embrace technology. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Knowledge of tools for data analysis and report generation.
  • Knowledge of generative AI technology landscape including language models, embedding models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and compute infrastructure
  • AI UX considerations – prompt UX, result explainability (citations/grounding), and A/B testing for agent behavior.
  • Familiarity with cloud Infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Competence to install and configure software preferably leveraging docker
  • Familiarity with DevOps technology such as git and Kubernetes.

 

 

Internship dates: May 19 – August 7, 2026. We can be flexible on start date if your university is on a quarter system.  Internships last 12 weeks in total length.

Pay Transparency: The hourly rate for SAS internships is determined by the applicant’s year in school and the position they are hired into. Hourly rates range from $15 – $31 for associate’s/bachelor’s level positions and $29 – $49/hour for master’s/Ph. D positions. Internship roles are not eligible for bonuses.
