Strong visuals are the foundation of this internship. Your portfolio should showcase news, sports, features, portraits, lighting, and in-depth stories and video. It should also reflect your individuality, capabilities, interests, and experiences.
From the first week, you will perform like a staff member—shooting and editing stills and video, working under tight deadlines, and using social media professionally. Editors and photographers will critique your storytelling and technique, including lighting, composition, cropping, toning, captions, and video editing.

- Must be enrolled in college and working toward a degree (associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate) or have graduated within six months prior to the internship start date.
- Must include a cover letter, résumé with references, and 3–5 published clips. Applicants may also include 1–2 photos or a short video sample to showcase visual or multimedia storytelling.
- Reliable transportation is strongly preferred.
- Samples must be legible and clearly labeled; incomplete applications will not be considered.
