About Us

Online Career Services is present and actively involved with enrolled online students during their entire lifetime as a learner and after, as alumni. We are a lifelong career service provided free of charge. Research and trends show us the need to create an SNHU culture of career preparation and planning that is embedded within the entire learner experience. That is our mission.

  • Timely responses & scheduled sessions
  • Opportunity for organic conversation while keeping conversation goal focused
  • Candid feedback throughout coaching sessions in support of growth and goal attainment
  • Insightful questioning and a safe space for reflection

  • Be responsive to phone and email communication from members of the Career Services team.
  • Check your email 2-3 times a week:
    • Please note email communication is through your SNHU email, in some cases it is possible to request communication to your personal email as well.  Inform the Career Services team member your working with if that is your preference.
  • Proactively search for jobs, network and connect with potential employers through Handshake and SNHU-hosted Career Events.
  • Be knowledgeable about your program and courses required to complete your degree.
  • Ask for help when needed – from your Career Services team member or your Academic Advisor. We are here to assist you!
  • Arrive to scheduled appointments on time; prepare your questions, desired topics/goals; and be ready to take notes:
    • Examples: “I’d like to tailor my resume to a specific application, or I would like to explore my career options and work on goal setting”.
  • Take ownership of your career journey:
    • Ownership might include being open to reflective conversations, engaging in recommended research, activities, or completing action steps between appointments.
  • Participate in career events, including virtual employer sessions brought to you by Career Services.

Career advising appointments are:

  • Virtual: Students and alumni can call and/or email our team to set up a time to chat about your career needs during our week-day service hours.
  • You-Led: You are the expert on you, we are here to help you explore, navigate, and help design your career path. You will be able to define your appointment goals with your Career Services representative to ensure your appointment addresses your needs.
  • Action–Oriented: You will co-create action steps with your Career Services representative that you can complete between appointments to achieve your goals.
